A Traverse Fit for the Beach
The Midwest may usually be in the mid-30s and 40s right now, but the all-new 2018 Traverse SUP concept takes us straight to warm weather and sandy shores—even right out on the water with Chevrolet’s newest watersport accessory: a stand up paddleboard, mounted on the attractive automobile’s Thule roof rack.
This new concept has us wishing for warmer weather with a beach-inspired makeover of the three-row crossover. This silver SUV features wavelike graphics that wrap around the bottom half of the car, along the sides, front and back, with a thin yellow strip racing alongside, above the blue. (New metallic colors to compliment the 2018 Equinox and now this. We can’t wait to see what’s next.)
With the purchase of the car comes a stand up paddleboard (a.k.a. SUP)—specifically, a Riviera Paddlesurf paddleboard—in a matching blue with silver accents. No longer do watersport enthusiasts, adventurous couples and fun-loving families have to settle for the dry land. Chevy is encouraging us all to get out on the water.
But even here on the dirt paths and dry roads, the 2018 Traverse takes style to a new level. Not only does this two-toned car concept feature dark gray fascias, rockers and wheel opening trim, but also gloss black bodyside molding, fog lamp bezels and tinted windows for those warm sunny days we’re waiting for.
Donning signature black Chevy bowtie emblems on the outside and embroidered “Traverse” headrests, there’s no questioning who this car is.
Accessories include 20-inch aluminum wheels in black with black lug nuts, black grille insert, assist steps, a trailer hitch kit, black cargo and all-weather floor liners and illuminated front door sill plates.
For 2018, the Traverse now comes in two new trims: the sportier RS and High Country full of luxury, giving potential buyers more personalized options to choose from to fit their lifestyle.
With all of these new features, plus the incredible devotion Chevy has to safety—technology such as the Surround Vision and Teen Driver—we can’t wait to see this concept come to life.
