Breaking: Chevy Bolt Discontinued
Chevrolet recently announced some news that will disappoint fans of the Chevy Bolt. The American automaker will be discontinuing the Bolt to make room for new Chevy EV cars. Slated to begin producing electric versions of popular models, Chevrolet is moving towards diversifying it’s EV lineup with fan favorites. Reaching an all-electric future requires some sacrifices in the status quo, with the Bolt as the first casualty. Chevrolet is committed to putting every driver in an electric vehicle on a scale previously unseen! Learn more about the Chevrolet Bolt discontinued news below.
Chevy Bolt Discontinued News
Unfortunately, the Chevy Bolt is officially being discontinued. Despite its sales success, GM is making room for more EV model production. The factory that produced the Bolt – located in Orion, Michigan just outside of Detroit – is being renovated.
The upgrades made to the factory are slated to increase production volume and employment opportunities. The changes are also aimed at accommodating building EV trucks instead of the Bolt. As SUVs and trucks are increasingly in demand, Chevrolet decided to make the switch now in order to get ahead of the game. As EVs as a whole become even more popular, you can expect a large Chevrolet EV lineup to choose from.
The Bolt Is A Fan-Favorite
Since it’s release in 2016 the Bolt has been one of the best, most affordable options for the average driver looking to make the switch to electric. It was one of the first EVs with a long-distance range that didn’t break the bank. And now, the Chevy Bolt is the most affordable EV on the market.
Chevrolet will make a price cut to both the Bolt EV and EUV for the 2023 model year. However, there will be a difference in Chevy Bolt EV vs EUV pricing. The Bolt EV becomes cheaper by $5900 with a starting price of $28,800, while the EUV model price drops by $6300 at a starting price of $28,195. With these amazing savings, they are the least costly EVs on the market for 2023, even before considering federal rebates.

Chevrolet is Expanding Its EV Lineup
As the automotive industry looks to the future with electric vehicles, Chevrolet is leading the way with all-electric models of some of its most popular vehicles. This includes the Chevrolet Equinox, Blazer, and Silverado, which will all receive electric models. General Motors expects to eventually produce 600,000 electric trucks in the U.S. annually!
